Congrats Marty Brodeur

by bacon on Mar.14, 2009, under Off Topic, Sports

Martin Brodeur tied Patrick Roy’s record with 551 career wins tonight, and will likely break that record in the next week.  Although this has little to do with video games other than Marty’s possible stats for next year’s NHL games, I thought I’d throw it up there.

So congrats Marty.  You play for the Devils and thereby a lot of those wins were in no small part due to the neutral zone trap which killed hockey as I knew it.   I hate your team, but I’ve got to give you some respect.

3-on-3 NHL Arcade

Funny looking Ice Hockey game coming soon for PS3 and Xbox 360.  The visual style resembles the MLB Stickball game released for Live Arcade a little while ago.  In a weird way, this one reminds me of NES Ice Hockey.  That is at least the Gigantism power up does.

If there is any online/multiplayer it’ll be an easy 800 point pickup.  Gotta check out the demo.

Wonder what this means for Madden 2010

by bacon on Jan.22, 2009, under Sports

Looks like EA is laying off a significant portion of its workforce, specifically the crew that makes Madden and most of its other sports franchises.  I guess they were waiting until they finished up whatever’s due out for NASCAR season.
