The Lamer Gamer

Why the fuck does this make CNN?  I realize the irony of posting about this when I myself find it to be so lacking in newsworthiness, but I can’t help it.  Some kid breaks record for points scored playing Guitar Hero, and somehow, the kid actually thinks THIS is important.  I believe in his own words the lad said he didn’t really think that he would ever break a record for something that mattered.  Um, kid… You still haven’t.

Granted most popular records aren’t meaningful in any broad sense, but this one is pretty low on mass appeal, somewhere below most hot dogs eaten but above longest fart.

Umm, yeah.

Guitar Hero III is not kind to the un-coordinated.  It’s bad enough that my friend’s kid can beat me at a game which simulates something I can actually do in real life, but I’m kind of OCD about finishing things, and achievements on the Xbox don’t help things.  It’s almost ironic that after setting up this site to complain about my inability to do something that 10 year old kids seem to have no trouble with, I FINALLY 5-starred Raining Blood (on Easy) about 2 days later.  It only took me 6 months or so. Meh, it’s progress. Good first post, I’m excited.
