The Lamer Gamer

In addition to running all over the place in Mirror’s Edge, I’ve managed to strap shoes on my feet and run around in real life too. Not sure how many miles I put on, but my calves hurt pretty bad…

Mirror’s Edge is kicking my ass.  I need some mad practice as the speed runs are kinda tough for me.  Finished Chapter 1 in 6:00.60, OUCH.  I’m sure I could have dicked around a little less and saved that .60 somewhere but whatever.   I’ll get it done.

Other good things this weekend.  Finished Both Halo 3: Annual and ODST: Deja Vu, so Only ODST: Endure left to go for Recon armor.  Also managed to score the free night vision specs from MW2 for the ole avatar. Of course everyone else has them too, but they’re still cool, and way oversized.  Also stole the same guy’s airdrop crate 3 times in the same match last night.  He must have been hating on my pretty bad.

Command and Conquer: Generals was released released 6 years ago last month and as an anniversary surprise a new (old) map was released.

This particular mission involves the GLA murdalizing a bunch of pro-western civilians with toxin tractors.  Sounds fun.  One might ask as to why the subject matter was too brutal and fraught with racial overtones to make it into the game at the time, yet now that it’s the year 2009, the world is somehow ready for more extreme terrorists.  

Looks like it’s time to bust out the old, cheap Ranger/Rocket Launcher rush tactics.  Nah, I’m not that much of a dick.  Well, I am, but I won’t go back to doing that.  Probably.

Looks like The Boss is releasing some new and old tracks together, and free for a limited time for Guitar Hero. It’s the classic “Born to Run” and “My Lucky Day” from his upcoming album.  So grab it between January 27 to February 4.

I really wish more bands would release free tracks.  I have a lot of trouble considering the purchase of extra songs for GH or RB when the cost is equal to that of buying the track or CD all over again, except I don’t get any other use rights, so I can’t listen to it outside of the game for instance.  Someone should promote that, “Buy our CD, get access to the songs in GH or RB”.

Looks like this one is only for GH World Tour, oh well.  One of these days I’m going to have to get the whole band kit.
